Not many cookies are good for the immune system and lower the cholesterol. With the right ingredients, this round baking snack won’t kill the diet. For those, inquest of a delicious cookie recipe, packed with nutritional value, try this healthy oatmeal cookie recipe, called Cherry Tart Oatmeal Cookies. 

Ingredients:

3 cups of uncooked oats
1½ cup of tart cherries
½ pound of soft light butter
1 cup of firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
½ cup of Dominoe's granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of almond extract
1½ cups of all-purpose wheat flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
¼ teaspoon of cinnamon


  • Set the oven’s dial to 350.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the butter and sugar until it forms into a creamy mixture.
  • Next, add the almond extract, and eggs. (Mix well).
  • Then, stir the flour baking soda, and cinnamon. 
  • Slowly, blend in the oats and cherries. 
  • For the best results, mix all ingredients well. 
  • Using a tablespoon, drop batter onto a non-greased cooking sheet. 
  • Bake until the cookies  become a golden brown - 11-13 minutes.


Makes 3 dozen cookies.
