Consumer Holiday Shopping Trends

On Thursday, December 17th, the National Retail Federation showed that 19 percent of Americans have not started their Christmas shopping. This weekend, estimations forecast that 38 percent of shoppers will do their shopping online. Forty-two percent will shop at major department stores, and another 42 percent will shop for last minute holiday deals.

Holiday Shopping Tip:

Consumers should beware of prices. Quite often, retailers promote price reductions on products as bargain shopper enticements and to move inventory. Prior to finalizing those electronics purchases, be sure to compare prices at three major merchants. Also, remember that after Christmas is when the last minute holiday deals are really discounted.
