Food Recall: Ground Beef
Consumers, who recently purchased ground beef, manufactured by Holten Meat Inc. with the following USDA mark: "EST-02591," should discard the meat product. The recall includes ground beef, distributed from January 2009 through May 2009. Roughly 241,000 pounds are part of the recall, involving a metal contamination of its seal casings .
Although, there are not any consumer complaints, the manufacturer has not disclosed which institutions received the tainted meat. The ground beef recall includes the following states, where the product was distributed:
- Delaware
- Florida
- Illinois
- Kentucky
- North Carolina
- New Mexico
- Ohio
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Texas
