As usual, designers have a distinctive perception about the attire, this autumn. Calvin Klein, Doo.Ri, Prada, Jil Sander and Jeremy Laing minimalize the wardrobe with tailored precision. They are showing monochrome tailored pairings, accessorized with modest neck, and arm ware (jewelry). Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, Etro, Preen and others are embracing the woman's body with form fitting, waist defining emphasis on curvaceous styles.

The Hues of the Season 

The hues of the season resemble our favorite precious gems. These jewelry stone, inspired tones include: sapphire, emerald, ruby. peridot, amethesyt and tanzanite to name a few. Nevertheless, black and gray have made a comeback into the fall collection, 2008.

Merge stripes with plaids, polk-a-dots and vice versa. In other words, unlikely patterns mix and mingle, as long as there is a cohesion of color.  

The skirt length is at the kneecaps; however, there is a two inch leeway above and below the knee. 

∙ The Fabric

The jewels are all about bling and on the periphery of gaudiness. In other words, if you can find it in your grandmother's jewelry box, then it's most likely fashion worthy. Mega beads, vintage rhinestone pins, and oversized necklaces are part of the fall fashion statement. But, don't rule out any family heirlooms. 

Sheer, opaque and see-through are the best adjectives, describing this years's trend in women's hosiery. Also, leggings worn under sweaters, t-shirts and skirts remains in vogue. 

Ankle booties make way for the plank and catwalk. 

Purses, bags and totes are on a short-handle.

Narrow belts accessorize any dress, blouse, t-shirt, sweater, skirt etc.  Regardless of width, belts are in this Fall -- as long as they accentuate your waist.
