Travel Report: On-time Flight Arrivals

As Southwest soars new heights in passenger satisfaction, US Airways lands in first place for on-time arrivals this year (January -May 2008). The Consumer Journal compared four leading airlines for punctuality and inconvenience.
| Airline Carrier | Number of Flights | % Cancelled Flights | Avg. Minutes of Flight Delay |
| Southwest | 501,557 | .95 | 11.43 |
| United | 193,900 | 2.75 | 15.24 |
| American | 257,76 | 4.62 | 15.33 |
| US Airways | 192,474 | 1.43 | 6.18 |
Nevertheless, Southwest had more than double the number of flights than US Airways had. If one compares the 11-minute flight delay time out of 500,000+ flights to US Airways 6-minute flight delay--out of 192,000+ flights, it's pretty obvious which airline has the best on-time landing percentage than the other behemoth airlines.
So, while American, US Airways and American Airlines innovate more ways to charge their passengers for inconvenience, they might consider focusing on the basics: reliable flights schedules and good old-fashioned friendly customer service.
