As the Christmas shopping season winds down,  The Consumer Journal has a few friendly reminders prior to wrapping the presents.>>

Before the scissors, tape and ribbon are drawn, there are a few tasks to execute.  Gift receipts are a good way to avoid the potential of making an exchange. Place receipts in the gift box with the present.

It's entirely acceptable to open gifts before wrapping them.  The objective is to make sure the product is in proper working order.  Besides, it's best to exchange a faulty present now than later.

In cases where your gifts were wrapped in the store, make sure that each Christmas present is properly labeled for the appropriate recipient.
