As we celebrate Earth Day 2007, consumers should be aware of how mega retailers Target, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Timberland and Lowes show their compassion about the earth?

These stores plan to make it easy for consumers to find and buy environmental friendly products. While certain merchants are adding eco-friendly products to their shelves, some are taking the green effort a little further.

At present date, Target runs four buildings in California on solar energy and by the year’s end, – they plan to add solar energy at 18 other locations. In 2006, an eco-friendly Lowe’s store was built in Austin, TX. The prototype has been such a success that Lowe’s plans to launch a similar store in Toronto before 2008.

As for other magnates: Home Depot, Walmart and Timberland, these stores are steadily adding more ecological consumer products, to their shelves.

For instance, Wal-Mart is offering these discounts for Earth Day 2007:

· Find Values on Organic Apparel at Walmart.com

· Find Eco-Friendly Items for Baby at Walmart.com
