Let everyone eat more pizza, seems to be the marketing approach at fast food behemoths Subway and Dunkin Donuts. In an effort to win over the appetites of young consumers, both brands are adding pizza to their menu.
In Chicago's Loop, the Dunkin Donuts at 39 W. Jackson, Chicago IL 60603, personal-sized pizzas seem to be appealing to patrons of all ages. Prepared in 85-seconds at $3.99 per pizza, it’s the kind of meal that’s affordably fast. With some 7,000 restaurants in 30 countries, the Dunkin Donuts, Chicago location is the blueprint for the future design concept of the franchise.
First, the chain positioned itself as the eatery with the ability to aid weight loss. Forced to keep in step with Quizno, Subway deployed the toaster back in 2005. Over the last decade, the franchise known for its diet friendly sandwiches has been sizing up the profitability of pizza. In the interim, Subway plans to roll-out 8-inch thick crust personal pies this summer in NYC and throughout the country by the end of 2007.
[Operating in more than 27,000 restaurants worldwide, Subways are located in 85 countries.]
