Flash "Sideways," in the film scene where the main character, played by Paul Giamatti chases down a greasy burger with a bottle of vintage wine. A raunchy new pairing seems to be on the horizon, a coupling verisimilar to Beluga Caviar and Mad Dog 20/20. The difference being fine wine with fast food.
With the recent link between wine, resveratrol and fattening food, it appears the sardonic film maybe inspiring more than an acquired taste for a sumptuously complex wine. It could spark a new culture of wine lovers or people who thinks it's acceptable or "quirky" to juxtapose the tasteful against the tasteless.

In the interim, here's hoping that medical researchers will determine that resveratrol is tantamount to a fat free card so that we can enjoy -- all the red wine necessary to remain healthy.
