What’s in Store for an iPod in Travel?

Categories: Travel, airline, iPod, holiday gift,

Traveling with an iPod is worthy of a travel upgrade – or so it may seem. Since, UAL, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Line, and KLM plan to roll out seating built with iPod connections, it won’t be long before passengers can tune out some of the annoying distractions of air travel. Although iPod entertainment systems will be available for extended distance flights, business and first class passengers, not all plane seats will have the capability.

The new iPod-connection ready seats will remain a convenience as along as the TSA does not prohibit these carry-on items. Airline travelers will no longer have to worry about losing their charge because the airplane seat connections will be equipped with built-in power to charge the iPod as well. Nevertheless, the airline industry is not the only industry iPod plans break into. New plans are underway to develop iPod ports into the next generation of model cars.
