Furniture Safety Issue: TV Stands
Categories: Furniture, TV stand, safety
To ensure child safety in the home, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) has issued voluntary recalls on a popular furniture item, television stands. Due to the instability and tipping ease of certain television stands, more than 4,000 were recalled.
Recent reports show that since 1999, eleven children have died from being crushed by a television set. When children climb onto various television stands, it can be a matter of moments before the furniture can crash and kill a youngster. At Pier 1 Imports, the Ming television stand is being recalled because its bottom drawer can throw off the gravity of the furniture causing it to impetuously fall.
