Marriott International is launching a new reservation incentive, a completely smoke-free environment. For the non-smoking guest, the new policy assures a reservation without secondhand smoke. Nicotine-smoking guests, who breach Marriott's ban, will pay a hefty fine of $200. The hotel magnate plans to enforce the policy in September 2006. Some 2,300 hotels (approximately 400,000 guestrooms) will be affected by the new ruling:

• Courtyard
• Fairfield Inn
• JW Marriott
• Marriott
• Marriott ExecuSta
• Renaissance
• Residence Inn
• The Ritz-Carlton
• SpringHill Suites
• TownePlace Suites

What do you think about Marriott's new smoke ban. Will it make a difference in your reservation?
