Product Recall on Wego Kites

If Wego Kite Tubes are put of your aquatic fun -- beware. Roughly 19,000 of these kiting tubes are being voluntarily recalled by Sportsstuff, Inc. Following some 39 injury reports with 29 of the incidents requiring medical attention, the Omaha based manufacturer is withdrawing the kite tube from the market. Since Sportstuff received two fatality reports in the United States, the kite maker has been unable to determine the cause. But here are the details of the product recall:

Description/features of Wego Kite Tube: yellow, circular, inflatable water-craft tube attachable for towing behind a power boat

Uses of Wego Kite Tube: Designed for fun, Wego Kite Tubes become airborne when the end-user/rides draws on the handles attached to the floor of the tube. Although, the Wego's kite tube is made to glide above water, a warning on the floor of the tube cautions that the kite should never exceed a height higher than the the rider is willing to fall.
