Category: Consumer Report, Consumer Awareness, Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPS)

G
uess how much faulty consumer products cost the United States each year?

Annually, it costs our country more than $700 billion. In response to protecting American consumers, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPS) endeavors to prevent consumers from products that cause fires, explosions, electrical, fire, chemical, mechanical hazard or other serious personal injuries.

Over the last three decades, the agency's success rate has reduced 30 percent of the accident rates associated with potentially dangerous consumer protects.

To report a dangerous consumer product, you can either contact the CPSC's hotline at 800.638.2772 or visit their website by clicking here.
